SMD – Sidemount Diver

This is an introductory course designed so the candidate acquires basic knowledge and understanding of mounting cylinders on the side and related equipment alterations and the method of diving itself.

 

Theoretical knowledge:

  • The advantages of side-mounting a cylinder
  • Different equipment configurations
  • Problem solving
  • Procedures before, during and after the dive

 

Practical exercises:

  • Getting acquainted with equipment and different configurations
  • Removal and replacement of cylinders
  • Four (4) open water dives

 

Course duration:

3 days

  • Theory: 4-5 hours
  • Open water exercises and dives: 4-6 hours

 

Candidate prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • AOW and CSU certificates or equivalent
  • At least 20 logged dives
  • Completed medical statement (or a medical certificate not older than one year)
  • Completed liability release and assumption of risk form

Not included in the price:

  • Transport to locations, equipment rental, cylinder re-fills

 

 

 

Enrolment is only accepted after prepayment/deposit. In the case of unauthorized absence from the course, there is no return of the deposit.
